We took charge of the art direction and design of Vell’s new logo. Vell is a video camera application to take selfies.

DESIGN CONCEPT

A logo directly inspired by the app’s concept

The concept of the logo is “A chain of smiles”. People enjoy cutting out a piece from their daily lives, and the movies make other people smile. We imagine that Vell will support the chain of smiles. The symbol is a clown, which always gets a reaction out of an audience. Instead of the tear image which is common, we create the logo with mainly positive imagery; mouth with a full smile, the cosmetic of a diamond, and a hat with a bell.

ART DIRECTION

Anticipating deployment in various media

The crown of the symbol mark was produced not only for the logo, but also for the purpose of being applicable in advertising. The crown on the symbol has become a character, and he appears in Vell app.
