Developing a communication strategy for the North American and European market for the new ONE PIECE CARD GAME Learn Together Deck Set
Planning and producing a promotional video based on the strategy
OUR PROPOSAL
Positioning the card game as “a new adventure you start with someone,” emphasizing it as a social experience that connects people
Tagline: “ADVENTURE BEGINS TOGETHER”
CONCEPT
Learn Together Deck Set is a starter kit that allows beginners to learn the game as they play.
To make it an entry point for both ONE PIECE fans and card game newcomers, we positioned card games as “a new adventure you begin with someone” — a social experience that connects people.
Rather than a world limited to existing fans, we portrayed it as something open to everyone, creating opportunities for new connections and encounters.
VIDEO
The film coolly captures the fun of connecting through card games — whether between parents and children, friends, or colleagues — laughing together, competing seriously, and sharing the satisfaction of saying “We did it!”
Within a short runtime, it conveys that this is a game meant to be enjoyed with many kinds of relationships.
The developed tagline, “ADVENTURE BEGINS TOGETHER,” reflects the core themes of ONE PIECE — camaraderie and adventure — while capturing the excitement of the game itself.

TEAM
As this project focused on planning for Western markets, it was led by a bilingual-centered team within monopo.
Team members with firsthand understanding of both Japanese and Western cultures handled the planning, ensuring cultural nuances were fully considered.
For video production, our group company poweredby.tokyo joined the project, also with bilingual members.
The result was a team uniquely positioned to communicate both Japanese and international cultures — a strength that defines monopo.
Thanks to poweredby.tokyo’s staffing, the film achieved an atmosphere that feels anything but Japan-based, and was released in two versions: English and French.
