At monopo Tokyo, we led the art direction and production of social media and in-store visual assets for SHISEIDO Future Solution LX™. The project centered on translating the brand’s narrative into a visual system designed for global deployment.
CLIENT BRIEF
Art direction and production of visual assets intended for worldwide use.
OUR PROPOSAL
The visual assets were planned and produced with scalability in mind, starting from web and social platforms and extending seamlessly into retail environments.
By combining live-action photography with CG, we explored ways to visualize the product concept with clarity and depth.
VISUAL CONCEPT
We began by exploring how to visually express the context behind both the brand and product. Drawing inspiration from the two foundational elements, traditional Japanese botanicals and SHISEIDO’s proprietary science, we spearheaded a highly detailed production process, spanning six months of planning and six days of shooting.
To capture the product’s authentic presence, we prioritized a deep commitment to craftsmanship through live-action photography. Particular attention was given to the interaction of light and materials, quietly elevating the product’s presence while ensuring suitability for global use.
STILLS & VIDEO PRODUCTION
IInspired by Nishijin weaving, the product design embodies the Japanese philosophy of beauty that deepens over time. This concept was visually interpreted through resin-based craft techniques. The delicate brilliance of gold leaf, combined with textures reminiscent of natural materials, was captured with clarity and precision. In addition, a promotional film featuring multiple perspectives was produced. Carefully capturing shifts in light and surface detail, the film expresses the brand story through three themes: Beauty, Ingredients, and Texture.
These visual assets were released across SHISEIDO’s official social media channels and in-store environments worldwide.
