monopo Tokyo led the communication design for Technos College, a comprehensive vocational institution offering 30 departments and 82 specialized courses, along with the opportunity to earn a university-equivalent degree.
Drawing on the school’s uniquely flexible academic structure, we introduced a new brand positioning: A vocational school that broadens horizons and empowers choice. Inspired by an environment where students are free to explore their passions, we crafted the central message: “Never stop your curiosity.” This statement became the foundation for the overall creative direction, informing both the tone and design of the out-of-home (OOH) visuals.

BRAND POSITION
monopo Tokyo led the branding for Technos College, a vocational school offering 30 departments and 82 courses, including options to earn a university degree.
The brief was to move away from the yearly thematic changes and instead build a long-term communication platform that repositions vocational schools as a more appealing choice.
Unlike many vocational schools that focus on a single discipline, Technos stands out for its flexibility —allowing students to transfer between departments or pursue double majors. We positioned the brand as “A school that expands your possibilities and choices,” reflecting the freedom to explore diverse paths.
This idea developed into the core messaging: “Never stop your curiosity.” It expresses a positive, open-minded approach to learning. Though visual production wasn’t initially planned, the strength of the copy inspired a complete creative shift — leading to a newly planned shoot and a refreshed visual identity.
ART DIRECTION
Visually, we used arrows as a key motif to represent a future that keeps moving forward, even through uncertainty. After exploring various forms that conveyed momentum and progression, we landed on a collage of arrows with diverse colors, shapes, and textures, expressing the many possible paths students can take.
The shoot took place in the school's actual studio. The model was carefully cast to feel both aspirational and relatable, allowing high school students, the main target audience, to realistically picture themselves at Technos. The copy layout was designed in a vertical, novel-like format to enhance immersion and personal engagement.
We also integrated key strengths of the school, such as its wide range of programs and the ability to earn a university-level degree, striking a balance between storytelling and informative content.

COPY WRITING
When developing the copy, we focused on making it easy to read and strike a chord with our target audience: high school students. We conducted interviews with actual students to ensure the wording wasn’t overly complex or difficult to understand.
In the final stages, we adjusted the phrasing by changing “とまるな” (“don’t stop” ) to hiragana and adding a repeated structure like “〜し続けよう,” (“and keep continuing) which enhanced both the rhythm and approachability of the message.
OOH
Originally, the OOH visuals were set to appear only at JR Musashi-Koganei Station, the subway station closest to Technos College. However, due to the strong positive response to the final creative, placements were quickly expanded to include in-train ads next to the doors on the Inokashira and Keio lines, reaching even more high school students.
This project set out to express what Technos College offers to those who deliberately choose a vocational school over a traditional university. Through both words and visuals, we communicated the school’s flexibility that enables diverse learning paths, and its commitment to supporting students’ “unstoppable curiosity.”
