PLANNING
The House of Instagram Japan 2024 was a two-day event designed for Meta advertisers, with a maximum attendance of 250 people across four sessions. This was monopo’s largest project to date.
monopo’s approach, starting from the competition phase, involved crafting tailored content plans that prioritized maximizing the client's “wants and needs.” The goal was to transform the event into an engaging experience, not just another business gathering. The in-house team handled everything from production to on-site management, and key ideas from the competition—such as the AR experience and a booth where visitors could create Reels on the spot—were seamlessly integrated into the event content.
For the visual identity, we designed the main visual with gradient elements, reflecting Instagram's multifaceted nature and its ability to bring a wide range of creative possibilities to life within the 9:16 smartphone format. This visual concept became the cornerstone for the project's overall art direction.
BILINGUAL COMMUNICATION
For international clients, effective coordination with stakeholders across the globe is essential. Meta, one of the world’s largest companies, was no exception.
The project was carried out in coordination not only with the Japanese Meta team, but also with teams in other countries around the world. The success of this project can be attributed to the fact that monopo has many members who are bilingual and have a wide range of skills.
One of monopo's key strengths lies in our ability to support companies expanding internationally, offering tailored strategies that resonate in the Japanese market. Moreover, for an event of this scale, we executed everything with an exceptionally lean team, demonstrating our efficiency and agility.
INTERACTIVE CONTENT
In addition to the speaking events in the hall, monopo also organized an original content project.
The “Reel Studio” was an opportunity to learn from influencers on how to create reels, and to shoot, edit, and post reels with influencers on the spot. We invited popular video creator Zonosan and our member Clara Blanc as creators, and had many guests experience reel creation.
This project was designed to approach both creators and marketers by allowing them to learn about both the functions of Instagram and the techniques of popular influencers, and to share the results.
The design of this experience booth, as well as the direction and production of the props used in conjunction with it, were all done by monopo.
IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE
In addition to the photo booth, we also prepared content utilizing AR filters as part of our plan to provide an immersive experience. Welcome AR” appears when guests' event passes are scanned.
This content was designed to get guests to actually take action and spread directly on their Instagram stories. At the venue, a panel display was set up with tidbits of information on how to experience AR, such as “the number of monthly users experiencing AR on their smartphones. (Over 750 million people experience AR on their smartphones every month)
As well as props direction by Reel Studio, monopo was responsible not only for the stage set and booth design, but also for the detailed items within the event, from the event passes and staff T-shirts to the novelty hand towels. The identity of Instagram, which is expressed in the main visual, was developed down to the smallest detail. Incidentally, even the catering food was directed by monopo!
