Global Staffing, Ideally Suited to Paris Fashion Week

Paris Fashion Week unites icons and experts for some of the world's most prestigious fashion shows and presentations. Because of the unique nature of the occasion, a key element of this project was to understand the characteristics of the event and to source the staff best suited to it. Unlike other global events, filming at Paris Fashion Week requires a flexible response; it was essential to source a team with the experience and connections needed to anticipate any eventuality.

Smooth Remote Production Between Europe and Japan

As part of the production had to be done remotely between Europe and Japan, monopo's global team and Europe-based producer: Asako Tomotani, took the lead in designing a multilingual online communication ensuring smooth remote production.

Collaborating with the Talented Director: Sebastian Beyrer

The skills of Sebastian Beyrer, an experienced Cinematographer, DoP (Director of Photography) and Director were elicited to capture imagery of each garment in a way that embodies the philosophy of CFCL. Beyrer’s ability to visually frame the essence of the presentation was invaluable to the project.

Scenographic Collaboration with Nile Koetting

Preparations for filming were carried out in close communication with artist and scenographer: Nile Koetting. Koetting was in charge of the stage design of the presentation. To carry the theme and atmosphere of the presentation into film, we made sure to capture the space embodying the futuristic philosophy of CFCL and its garment production process.

Expressing CFCL’s Vision for the Future

Being both CFCL’s first physical presentation at Paris Fashion Week, this project was extremely valuable in showcasing the brand’s identity on the world stage. The memorable collection and presentation were filmed so that those who were not able to view the show on-site could still absorb its effect online. By adopting the Steadicam floating filming technique, monopo created a visual representation of the brand's forward-thinking vision, with effects reminiscent of weightlessness in outer space.

Maximum World View on a Minimal Set

In parallel with filming the actual presentation, we filmed scenes focusing on the textures and design details of the garments on a small set within the venue. This was done as the presentation was designed to be shown physically, leaving little room in terms of creating images for the film. To celebrate CFCL as the first Japanese apparel brand to be certified by the Benefit Corporation (B Corp), monopo focused on showcasing the brand’s sustainable philosophy as embodied in the recycled elements of the garments.

By weaving footage of the presentation with detail-focused clips, we were able to convey both the world view of the presentation and the detailed sophistication of each garment in the collection.
